Kapote

KAPOTE aka Mathias Modica is the founder and creative mind behind Germany’s Toy Tonics label. He co-produces many of the young artists on the label and is responsible for the visual appearance of Toy Tonics (in cooperation with Berlin artists M.i.r.u.e.l., Paso Kartsolis and Michael Ullrich). Kapote has a long history of producing (dance) music, as a vinyl collecting DJ and as one of the leading figures in Berlin's electronic music scene. Before starting Toy Tonics he directed the indie dance and experimental music label GOMMA RECORDS (2001–2015) with designer Mirko Borsche and producer Imbery. Gomma was a cutting edge audiovisual label that besides releasing music of young producers also did exhibitions with visual artists, published posters & shirts, and created underground fanzines.
