Unknown Pleasures / Placeres Desconocidos is a Nicaraguan and Central American underground dance music producer, dj and live act with releases in Half Seas Overs, Beatamin Recordings and Deeplomatic Recordings. Unknown Pleasure’s real name is Carlos Olivares born in 1990 in the city of Managua, Nicaragua. Carlos started his music career as an electric guitar player for a few rock and punk bands. He later, after being a fan of experimental guitar tones and effects, discover computer music production and started djing. Carlos fell in love with electronica when he wrote a paper on electronic music in Nicaragua while studying for his major on sociology back in 2012 and he have been promoting dance music culture ever since.
