Shokstix

Shokstix are an electronic duo from Melbourne, consisting of composer/guitarist Eren Akyalcin, and producer Aravindha Wimalasiri. Being inspired by various styles of music, they strive to create a sound that is unique. Eren started playing guitar back in the early years of high school, heavily inspired by the expressive music of virtuoso guitarists Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. He began composing in a band with friends in the last couple years of high school and it has been his focus ever since. Aravindha began producing after being inspired by Congorck and Dada Life. Their signature electro basses gave him the urge to create insane sounds. Aravindha’s love for electronic music started to rub off on Eren, who composed mainly in alternative genres.
