As we draw the curtains of time on 2018 and reflect on the year, we think about the highs and lows, good and bad. Here at Sprout, we figured there was just enough time to get just one more debut in before the years' end, and what a debut it is. Fat Sushi is a bit of a legend around these parts, signed to a bewildering selection of labels including Suara, Great Stuff, Cold Harbour and Nutura Sonoris, their trademark funky style is an assured crowd pleaser and 'Tripod' is no exception. Remixes come from ZAC and D-Nox & Spuri.
The original mix is a lively House groove underpinned by a gargantuan bassline and some nifty synth work. Muscular and musical in equal measures, this is the kind of track that grows on you every time you hear it. D-Nox and Spuri opt to intensify the groove edging it toward a crossover tech sound for those tough late night floors that need a little meat on their bones. Equally, ZAC takes things tougher and works hard on the low end flavours to deliver a funky, powerful re-imagination.
