Following the success of his third album "Galactic Caravan" DJ 3000 now releases Galactic Caravan - The Remixes. DJ 3000's full length release "Galactic Caravan" on Motech Records was a well received record all on its own. Add 23 of the worlds most known and unknown producers to the mix and you come away with Galactic Caravan - The Remixes. There are remixes from names familiar to the Motech camp like Deviant who creates a beautiful down tempo mix of Heritage, as well as mixes by Gary Martin (Darjeeling Sun'), Subotika (Coat of Arms), Shawn Snell (Memory Almost Full) and DJ Compufunk (Emotional Sequence.) DJ 3000's goal on the "Galactic Caravan" remix record was to not only allow his fellow label mates a chance to remix tracks from the record, but to also reach out to artists who's work he both enjoys and respects. This led to an impressive stock of remixes from Detroit and across the world. Leading the Detroit corps is Electrofunk's own Mr. De who a funky electrified remix of "Seven Tribes of Hoti", T.Linder represents with a remix of "Memory Almost Full" that conjures memories of early Underground Resistance and Jeff Mills. DJ Bone gives "Meloudic Landscapes" an uptempo Detroit-style makeover. Producers from across the world also lent their hand to remixes. Rennie Foster created an arousing and rhythmic version of "Darjeeling Sun", Ben Sims (Midnight Express) and Buscemi (Flamuri i Populit) deliver remixes bathed in their signature driving tempo. Antennasia (Yrwehear), O.N.O (Memory Almost Full) and Moochie (Flamuri i Populit) all deliver heritage inspired versions of DJ 3000's compositions. Legendary Italo-disco producer Alexander Robotnick provides the bass line to Coat of Arms with his signature funky bends and adds a melody that only he could produce. Also rounding out the old school remix contingent are Mark Broom (Meridian) and Dan Curtain. (Penny for Your Thoughts.) DJ 3000, through the creation of Galactic Caravan, has provided both a stage for the talent of already established and respected producers to work alongside those who are making their way up the chain of command in the electronic world. This project shows us the brilliance of long practiced talent as well as the future of what's to come. In our world of equal opportunity rhythm where do you stand?
