Field Records welcomes a new name into the fold with its next EP. That name is Kiyoko, and it pertains to the UK duo of Jack Lever and Joe McBride (aka Synkro). After albums and EPs on Auxiliary and Samurai Horo, they now offer up four more ambient electronic cuts that again suspend you in a blissful sonic world.
Opener 'Emeralds' is the most sparse and heavenly, with gorgeous pads and gentle melodic droplets all warmed through by subtle vinyl crackle. 'Nancy Grows Up' is driven by a loose and lazy beat that tumbles gently beneath warp synths and cut up vocal sounds. It's a reflective comedown track that is followed by 'The Heights', a crunchier affair with frazzled drums off set by day dreaming pads.
