 - Saladin

Born, bred and based in Chicago, Saladin (pronounced Sah-lay-din) has been in the music industry for 20 years. He began his musical journey in his teens as a pop lyricist/vocalist but soon moved behind the decks to a production role. “Producing intrigued me because I saw the power of creation behind it,” Saladin says. “And it saved me from having to hire producers to write music for me.”In 2012, Saladin shifted his role again to that of DJ/producer - with the release of “I Want To Jack” on his own label, Phunk Junk - and began the most prodigious phase of his career.Over the years, he has had more than 100 releases on various record labels and collaborated with such vocalists as Milana May (NYC), Christina Novelli (UK), Eia (Brunei), and Kristin Kalliope (LA). He has had the pleasure of providing DJ support for D-Unity, Delta 9, Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, Jessica Eve of Who Da Funk, Agent Orange, Nastia, Paul Johnson, and Hyperactive, among many others.Heavily influenced by Giorgio Moroder, Prince, and 80s New Wave, Saladin is constantly working to build modern music infused with old school influences. His productions range from hard-driven, dark techno and deep progressive to big room electro and future house.“To me, it’s all about the melodies and challenging myself to keep experimenting with all the new sub-genres that arise.”
